Hey guys, I’m wondering if it’s worth transferring from Year 10 to Year 11 to schools like Baulko or Normanhurst.
it depends honestly. a fair portion of people have done well in their newer schoools in y11,simply becaues their old school wasn't as par standard or they didnt like it, and they ended up getting a good atar, but these good atar transfer students are usually at a lower proportion. but at the same time, a fair portion of people have regeretted moving schools because they find it hard to amke friends, hard to keep up, and they feel stressed and burnt out.

Yeah I would put girra as first, but penrith recently got higher than girra so I'll wait until next year when the 2025 rankings are out. I also live way closer to penrith, so idk...

But do HAST schools like penrith and girra accept students for year 9 entry if no one left the cohort, but they have really good HAST results?

If hurlstone said nothing it means ur prolly on the reserve list as well but I honestly don’t know. Like I think the way it works is ur 2nd pref school can’t reject or accept you until your first pref does..

All speculation tho but Sydney tech kids are leaving so try not to worry too much ….
dude finally after hurlstone ghosting me for so long, they dropped an email today, and as everyone could have predicted i got rejected 😭 , oh well at least im still reserve for tech and mac fields but its so not fair bro i go to this really good private selective tuition centre once a week (he doesnt accept everyone for tutoring) and last week i got promoted to cambridge yr 10 maths, (we've been doing cambridge yr 9 so far) cuz i got full marks on the cambridge yr 9 test, but my entire class excpet me failed somehow, even the sydney boys and hurlstone kids, and my tutor said its really unfair as he thinks i deserved to get in, i think i said this last term but one kid who got the exact same hast score as me basically, he got in hurlstone bcuz he had them pref. 1, even tho in tutoring hes worse than me like consistently he fails his exams at tutoring, so what the hell is hurlstone even doing i dont know... i just wish they let u know like what position u r on the reserve list, but i just hope i get in at least ONE school 🙏

theres only been a few occurrences where that has happened, i know a handful of people get into girra in y10 and they didnt get in in y9 though if that helps, but theres no harm trying
Ohh ok thanks. Do you know if the chances are higher for yr 9 entry or yr 8 entry in penrith or girra?
