If this policy is put into force AND there is a military component ( which I think is highly doubtful) then rest assured that those who opt for military service WONT be put into any form of combat AT ALL. UNDER AGE PEOPLE ARNT GOING TO FIGHT. THe most it possobly could be would be basic army...
The problem is that movies appeal to different people in different ways.
Howerber, I reckon these movies are underrated- The Burbs, O Brother Where Art Thou, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and Down Periscope (man I love that movie)
Bsc. all the way! The only real service is the Army.
Had my last exam yesterday (Oceanography) and now its off to sunny Majura for 3 weeks of fun in the sun.
On the teacher student ratio, its pretty small but since academics are really overatted, no-one particulary cares as long as they pass.
Congratulations Brez, making it into ADFA is a significant achievement. I'll see you here next year I suppose. If you have any questions feel free to ask, ill be away on single service training for the next few weeks starting on monday however, but ill check back in here when i get back...
Nah, the BFA stays the same, but that is only the Basic Fitness Assesment. There is still others such as Combat Fitness Test, SF Barrier and any Corp specific fitness assesment.
The 50 push-ups need to be done in 2mins, you cannot adrop during the test but you may stop for a rest if you are...
When you arrive at ADFA, you are allocated to a Division. The Div will have its own accomadation building. Theoretically it isnt free accomadation, but the amount is automatically deducted from your pay

Then theres the Inital Fitness Assesment
Now for Army its
15 Pushups
45 Situps
Beep Test to 7.5
So basically its the easiest physical fitness test you will ever do in your life.

On the military side, i've done plenty of weapons shoots, with both the F88 and F89 ( Steyr and Minimi- Light Machine Gun). On Single Service...
Ah yep, there is two psyc thingys involved. The first ones during an inital assessment where you fill in a form that basically gives them an inital impression of your state of mind ie. "Do you stand on high places and want to jump off". Pretty stock standard but some questions make you think...
I applied for the Army last year through ADFA. Went through the processes and stuff and even got a free laptop (ie. ADFA Education Award).
And now im getting towards trhe end of my first year at the Australian Defence Force Academy and gotta say, its brilliant.
Not quite,
After finishing your time at ADFA you will owe the ADF 5 years of miliatry service befor you can leave. This is the ROSO, Return of Service Obligation ( fair enough too, the ADF just spend 500k on you). However when in service you can live off-base and sort of get a "normal" life again
