Prospects in private practice law after an ANU degree?

I think you're definitely looking too far ahead...picking the 'right' option now is an impossible exercise because what you'll be interested in pursuing will assuredly change by the time you're looking for a job as a graduate. So just go anywhere.

    Transferring to ANU from USYD

The social aspects of college are MUCH BETTER than just commuting to uni. You'll have much more time as getting to class takes 10 minutes tops but it's pretty easy to mis-spend the time as well...college is really good unless a) you are particularly prone to cabin fever or b) a lack of...

ajdlinux, if not application lineup, what criteria do they hand out accom offers on then?

    Information on Accommodation

Shame for all the people who are getting shunted around to hotels etc....I applied for accom sometime in December and I got B&G (first pref)...

    acceptance of offer?

undergrad handbook (CD), a booklet on HECS, welcome letter, enrolment form, o-week brochure, first-year course planner (unhelpful), 'how to accept and enrol' (can get online). so nothing exciting haha

    Input on my General Plot

Hmmmm sadly astroe is right. Perhaps keep the romance plot as a secondary theme/thread of the story? It's silly to say you can only write a romance once you have considerable life experience but unless you are feeling bright and sparky and possibly incredibly foolish I would warn against it...

    Commonplace Journal-Distress

philphie is right. show a variety of sources, some excerpts of the work, some reflections on your progress every few weeks. everything else IS a waste of your EE2 time so don't indulge your 'OCD'-ness.

    Too young for Uni?

I wouldn't worry about being too young...I'm moving out and I'm still 16. We'll learn to cope...?

    Young Writer's Showcase notification??

Hmm good q jmods...I'd say it's just an effort to save on space (and also reading other people's RS is not as interesting as their works themselves). I just rehashed my RS for most of it.

So, I've got my idea...but where to go now??

ice goddess (great name HAH) - you read texts (in your chosen medium and others) that appeal to you for their a) stylistic features (e.g. flashback stories) or b) thematic content (vietnam war era fiction etc.) convention is irrelevant; just build up a bank of references/inspirations for the...
