you guys will get like a net drawing and 200 bending moment diagrams, then at least one question about what a slump test is and one asking if steel or cardboard is better for the frame of a truss

engineering studies is a great subject, it covers lots of first year uni engineering content id recommend it a million times over for any engineering or math degrees
sadly the retarded sheeps at my school chose chemistry instead so they didnt run it (nobody is passing cause we're dumb + our teacher sucks incredibly). why the fuck is chemistry so popular?

a lot? I thought it just covers topics which should've just been in hsc physics syllabus instead and then just the usual hsc humanities stuff

i’m first year mechanical engineering, and multiple of my courses including MMAN1130 (cad design and manufacturing methods), ENGG1300 (engineering mechanics) and DESN1000 (a design course), and MATS1101 (material properties) have all used skills i learnt in engineering studies. it is so perfect for engineers

it also teaches you AS1100 which is fundamental for any engineering discipline

scaling myths, but i was first in course for engineering studies and i got a 95 so again, if ur passionate enough, anything is a good subject

do you guys have any advice for sum1 starting engineering studies next yr?
do your engineering report assignments asap😇 and make sure you learn ALL 3 METHODS to solve a truss (method of sections, method of joints, and graphical)

also get ready for technical drawings andddd lots of theory memorisation for materials

Not sure how it works at other more high achieving schools but where I am, students who do equal amounts of study for physics, chemistry and engineering will historically have Engineering 5 HSC marks higher than Physics, and their Physics 5 marks higher than Chemistry. And when those students are in the 90's, Engineering always gives them the highest ATAR contribution. Those that say Engineering scales poorly make the incorrect assumption that you will get the same mark for Engineering as the other sciences, and this is false. Engineering is an easier science that students will get a higher mark for.
