Help wanted with narrowing down PIP project title (1 Viewer)

Hi, my PIP project is about popular culture communities, specifically tv-based fandoms and the way fanfiction there is more often than not written by women yet masculine centered.
My problem is that I don't really know how to phrase the question - 'why do women write so much gay fanfiction?' doesn't really seem to cut it. I suppose something like 'To what extent are masculine centred fan writings by a female audience within popular culture communities a sign of gender-based liberation or a reflection of the television media industry?' would work, but it's such a mouthful.
Any help would be much appreciated.
