Textbooks + syllabus: do they go hand in hand? (1 Viewer)

Do textbooks cover exactly what the syllabus wants or do they go overboard/miss something? Specifically for sciences
i have been ‘studying’ (just taking notes bc i dont understand 70% of the stuff) for bio and chem n when i go back to the syllabus to tick off i see that it might have over explained or missed something
also my sister (class of 25) keeps telling me to skip ahead bc they’re not as important but obviously i dont take the risk

Dont rely solely on the textbook. gather ur info for study from a variety of sources. For Bio, I used Scienceready, multiple textbooks, and atomi. (On top of articles etc)

personally i use ATAR notes and no textbook at all cos textbooks like to just dump a load of information on u (most of which is untested for), and confuse u, while ATAR notes just puts the direct info and IQ/Syllabus question. i just memorise the whole atar book and im good to go
their expensive so just borrow it from the libary and dont give them back (like me )

I just scanned the book because I don’t want to risk getting fined by my library

yes lol i've gone through at least 7 different cards and got over 4k of fines not even joking
all the libarians hate me cos they know ive stained like all their hsc books in ink if i return them at all
