Not by a long shot. People around the E4 cutoff found it somewhat harder than normal. For people right near the top, it was the easiest paper ever. There just wasn't enough to discriminate between the very best students.

it's actually harder 3U Permutations and Combinations. (one of the worst topics ever for many students)

It was one of the easiest papers IMO. If you want so see a hard paper, look at 2000 or 2003. Those years were crazy. Another reason I hate MC is it seems like the standard of 4U papers is dropping. 2012 and 2013 were fairly simple when compared to papers in the old format.

Lol, I'm pretty sure every single 4U student would be cheering if this was the case, but unfortunately harder 3U gets tested more than every other topic every single year, and it will be the same for the 2014 paper.

Also OP, I found 2012 the easiest of the last 20 years. The only challenging part of the last question was c)iv).

i've heard that 1993 was really hard. apparently the guy who topped got 100% but the next guy was 7 marks below him.

never looked into it though

It appears I can't read. The answer I gave before was for the 2013 paper.

Hahaha ok Guys. Yep to say the truth they put mechanics and conics instead of combatrics and stuff made the job a lot easier right? I did that last question and got the answers but not sure if methods are correct. Should I post them up to check if methods are correct?

I found 2003 alright, 2000 though is a whole different story...

Yeah this.

I got 78% iirc the first time I did the 2012 paper.

Come 2013 paper, gets 64%.

Your statement is correct for 2013.

It was made most likely to discriminate between high e3 and e4 students (my area), which is why I stuffed up.

I wouldn't be surprised one of the following happens:

- Either the raw cut-off is a low to mid 60's

or

- A less percentage of students (say maybe 30% instead of 36%) get an e4 this year.

Yeah, my teacher told be that 1993 was fucking insane, harder than 2000. Never attempted it though. I probably should have.

Yeah the mechanics/conics made the last question quite doable. There was only 5 marks worthy of being in Q16 imo, which was the resolution of the forces by creating your own angle. I couldn't believe the first part of Q16 made it in there. It was an absolute gift.
