key words - peak hour traffic
Have you ever seen a jam at peak hour where cars are 3 seconds apart?

I'm not shifting the discussion, I tried to make an example of a situation where panic is present, its not my fault that P platers panic
Yes? If traffic is travelling at 10km/h, a gap of 8.3m is 3 seconds. This is only a two car space, between each car. Lots of people would drive with this gap. If you drive with less than an 8.3 m gap at 10km/h, you are driving recklessly.

-ineffective in some cases. My parents business has been broken into a couple of times which resulted in the police chasing the vehicle. No crash and criminals were caught
-people drive dangerously regardless
-More crashes occur when police are not involved
-your last point brings be back to the fact that the car might not be the only item of value in the chase.

I understand you perfectly, I just disagree with some things. All good though.
- anecdotal evidence~. statistics show the criminals evade police more than 50% of the time
- ??? what a ridiculous statement
- fucking hell
-you are a complete
- retard

yes

most traffic jams

have you ever seen a jam at peak hour where speeding p platers need to jam on the brakes
Yes.

People don't die from the ~sight~ of a police car, comparing p-platers reactions to this, to a situation where the police pursued and caused a reaction resulting in the death of four people, is ridiculous, the situations are not at all comparable in impact.

Yes, well where an accident is caused by careless drivers, this is bad, and there are penalities currently in place.

Where accidents are caused by police following protocol, their protocol should be reviewed.
I have no problem with that. I was just exemplifing the scenario of panic. People blame the police, but doesent the government make the laws?

Well tbh cops are scum, and morally culpable if they follow bad laws.

yes i can see how p platers becoming nervous at the sight of highway patrol can be comparable to CRIMINALS trying evade police

Why cant you engage in an adult conversation without resulting to personal attacks. People are entitled to their own opinions. Just becuase it does not fit with yours does not mean you have to call people names.
Obviously I cant seem to get my point across, so I'll end it.

In summary, the guy who stole the car was a repeat offender with no common sense. He's previous offence had him in hospital in a coma, but he was given a 2nd chance. It was foreseeable to him that his actions would have the same happen to him again, yet he still went ahead and did it.
The cops were only doing their job as to what their job entails them to do. It is not the police that make the laws, so people should not be blaming them. The family of the victims are grieving and can only find to blame the one party involved that survived - the cops.

I think this situation would be completly different if the offender suvived.

ok how fast were the speeding p platers in this traffic jam you saw
I never said they were speeding. They were going under the speed limit due to the jam but still find the need they have to slam their brakes on at the site of the copper.

The commandant of a Nazi concentration camp was only doing his job.
