Despite the GFC, Australia's economy has grown relatively more then other OECD countries, why is it still that hard for domestic "Aussie Born students" to find jobs, is it becoz we have to compete with international students? I don't know, it seems so hopeless atm to find a good decent job.

It has always been hard to find good jobs. You just need to apply. Psych yourself up and go into stores and ask for jobs. You have the advantage if you are young looking for retail work.

What you could do is to go job agency and get them to get a job for you.

keep trying, dont give up!

apply for EVERYTHING you can.

get a first aid certificate, get an RSA, get your P's (if you dont have it already), these all look awesome on your resume.

My friend says, at the moment most business are preparing for holidays. They are not really looking.

But still, keep applying, try the banks, shops, business. Often you weren't offered because your resume and cover letter needs some tweaking, or the way you look and presented yourself was not very effective. You need to look like a million bucks.

What you can do now is go to a book shop and read up on techniques to get a job.

It wouldn't have been hard for you to find a job if you applied for jobs before you completed your HSC, as everyone is now looking for a job that didn't already have one before the HSC finished. Plus most major retailers require you to apply online which delays the process. Your best to go into small businesses around your area to apply.

At the end of the day, no matter how many resumes you send out, you will only get the job if they are looking for workers.

I got rejected 6 times today across 6 different stores. I went to apply through the stores and all said they were full! I now have two remaining online applications at Bunnings and McDonalds.

Looking for a job is really hard!
