are they teaching us enough in sex ed??

coz basically all I remember was learning about STI's/ AIDS/ condoms.

okay so we learn how to protect ourselfs.. good.

BUT.

they dont teach us anything more than saftey. if they're not gonna teach us about sex, then why not call it "safe-sex education"

if its "sex ed" they shuld be teaching us valuble lessons. i hear quite a few questions raised in class about the physical side of sex... why dont they teach us this stuff?

they expose our young minds to pictures of disease striken genitalia! yet they neglect the side of sex most of us know... pleasure

and also... primary schools and sex ed! OHMYGOD. my niece's cuzns came home one day and was asking their mum if she had a vulva... == wat the fuck

what do u guys think?

sex ed needs to be revised? and do we want our young children knowing all the female genatalia when they are 7/8??

what kind of 'valueable lessons' do you want them to teach?

of course they're not gonna tell you about the pleasure involved, because you're all immature and they dont wanna promote sex at that age (for good reasons) and to prevent possible unplanned pregnancies.

sex ed isnt about 'feelings' and 'love' and 'orgasms' and 'pleasure', its about learning about the functions of the penis and the vagina, learning how babies are made, how to prevent unwanted production of babies, and about STI's.

go do arts or psychology or philosophy if you wanna learn about 'feelings', lol.

thus "immature" :)

either way, it's just learning. It does seem pretty early to teach it in year 7/8, but they gotta learn some day, and it's better that they know a thing or 2 about the possible outcomes of sex, rather than learning the hard way.

bro, im talking AGE not YEAR. as in ur lil bro or sister at 7 or 8 learning the parts of genatalia????!!

i was gobsmacked when i heard about my niece's cousins running around the house going "haha! you have a vulva! ahah.. ewwww dont touch me u have a vulva!"

== like seriously... this is a) immature (bcoz they are kids!) and b) disturbingly hilarious

most of the sex ed from younger yrs is just biology anyway! It is totally appropriate to teach anatomy to younger kids, Our culture views sex as very taboo whereas other cultures have nude pictures in free magazines left on trains, perhaps we are to conservative when it comes to sex!

Yes, the answer to this problem is BE MORE PROMISCUOUS

tbh I think people are way too open about sex

No, Not be more promiscuos though in many ancient cultures, Sex was a religious experience, men would go to temples just to have sex with a priestess!

The solution is to be better educated and to view se as what it is, a natural thing.....

If you think we are open about sex, go to eastern europe

haha no thanks.

I think sex ed here is quite adequate. I would not want teachers discussing "intimacy" with my kids. Their job is to teach about STDs and pregnancy. The end.
