...to do Chinese continuers for my HSC even though my school doesnt offer it? I've been learning Chinese for a while out of school now and I would really like some sort of accreditation...do u think that if I asked the LOTE department they would be able to organise something?Or shouldn't I bother?

The Open High School is a distance education language specialist school. The Open High School is part of a network of Department of Education and Training Schools which provide education to students by distance education methods. Subject to satisfying certain guidelines, students in NSW secondary and central schools may enrol to study a language course not available to them at their home school. Enrolment is available to both government and non-government school students. The basic learning materials are printed booklets and audio tapes with students returning assignments to their teacher by mail. A teacher at the home school is appointed to support this process. The interaction between teachers and students involves many different media including telephone, print, face to face lessons, personal message cassettes, fax and computers. The guidelines for enrolment may be viewed on the school website. Students may not enrol directly with the Open High School. All applications for enrolments must be made by the home school on behalf of the student.

saturday school offers a variety of lote for those who cannot do those subjects within their own school (either the school does offer it or any other reason xiaoie believes)...

ask ur language head master i think regarding the possibility of attending saturday school..
however, if u wish to do hsc chinese continuers, it is imperitive that u have successfuly completed prelim chinese continuers as a pre req...
oh btw, chinese ext is on offer for those who look for a real challenge... scaling is sweet (better than 3u maths)
