SPECIAL ENTRY SCHEMES — OTHER PATHWAYS TO UNE

School/College Recommendation Admission Scheme (SRAS)

UNE established SRAS for students who have demonstrated prolonged effort and enthusiasm throughout their secondary studies in recognition that such commitment and the ability to deal with difficulties cannot always be reflected in UAI scores.

UNE relies on your school's carefully balanced assessment of your ability to cope with university life, rather than your UAI score. To apply through SRAS, you must still be eligible for a UAI, Limited UAI or Tertiary Entrance Score (for NSW TAFE Tertiary Preparation Courses). You will still need to meet any prerequisites for particular courses — you can check these details in the course descriptions.

If you are successful in being offered a place through your SRAS application, you secure your place in the UNE course by having it first on your list of preferences with UAC or QTAC. The University is not permitted to tell a student to put UNE as first preference.

SRAS applications close on 29 September 2006, so ask your careers adviser today for more information on this opportunity or contact the Student Centre at
