I got Gg for both, assuming you did a punnet square, you had to get those yellow peas to be approximately 25% and this was the only solution. Yes/No?

i wrote GG, Gg, and gg, but then i cross two of em out so i only had Gg

i figured (in maths they mark u right if the correct answers are crossed out) so i figured it might be the same for bio lol but oh well

I got the same as Jessisbored. GG, Gg, Gg, gg resulting in yellow pods occuring 25% of the time as the gene for yellow (g) was recessive.

of the F2 generation?? there were three possible genotypes. GG, Gg (times 2) and gg
i got that too, did you need to write out Gg twice?

i wrote Gg only once, as it didnt say list everything out completely. That IS one of the possible genotypes and as it was a one mark question and didnt ask to put ratios we didnt need to say it accounts for 50% of the possible genotypes

How can GG or gg be a genotype?
1/4 of the f2 generation were yellow - therefore it had to be gg for one, and then rest either GG or Gg. If you use Gg and Gg, you get GG, Gg, Gg and gg. Anything else and you get pwned.

It has to be GG, Gg, Gg, gg
Because the first case is all Green, hence:
GG x gg = Gg, Gg, Gg, Gg
And the second one has to be a 3:1 mendelian ration which only works with Gg x Gg
Gg x Gg = GG, Gg, Gg, gg

How can you be sure they are the genotypes in the first generation, could be GG and Gg

bah phuck it

I think you are talking about different questions. The possible genotypes...part i, were GG, Gg, and gg. But for part ii, out of three marks, you had to discuss the results or something. And yes in this part you can conclude that both parents of the F2 generation were Gg. But part one asked for possible genotypes of F2, not F2's parents. 3
