Everytime we have a 45-minute English essay, we get 5 minutes of reading time and 40 for writing.

I know generally that the 5 mins of reading time is to make a plan in your head for the structure of the essay and read the question for keywords, but I feel like I'm missing something because I usually finish planning in two minutes and sit there WAITING and re-iterating my ideas for the next three minutes...

What do you guys do instead for this reading time?
Even if you do the same thing as me, let me know!! (so i don't feel clueless lmao)

Sometimes in the last minute of reading time, I "write" out my whole intro (including the thesis that answers the question) in my head so that as soon as reading time starts, I can dive right into it and smash out the intro in a couple of minutes. If you can write a banger intro, it really gives a good impression to the marker.

Another thing you can do is "write" out each of your topic sentences so that you can see how you can fit the key words in
