hiii this is my first post on BoS! i know there are a ton of these types of posts, but i was wondering what my chances are at getting early entry to uts med sci/law (or any law really), or civil engineering (variation, i know)

these are my yr 11 marks, and for reference my school is usually ranked in the 60s - 70s

english adv: B
english ext 1: A
maths adv: B
maths ext 1: B
biology: A
chemistry: B
french continuers: A
sor 1: B

my predicted atar from my school at the end of year 11 was 94.50, although i didn’t think my marks were that good lol. my year 12 marks are slightly better, i’ve since dropped chem and picked up ext 2 english, but im not sure if im going to get an atar of 96+

any advice would be super helpful! thank youuu :)

yeah my school gave us predicted atars based on our final ‘internal’ ranks/marks, assumed ‘hsc’ final exam results (based on internal performance), and scaled them according to similar past results from our school
Yeah my school is also working on this and they have our expected band for each subject and I think our atar based on how we are performing now

i’m wondering how accurate it’ll be honestly! my family friend graduated last year and her school gave them predicted atars after trials, hers was predicted to be a 95.70 or something, but her actual atar ended up being 91.50!! her final marks for her subjects were relatively similar to her internal marks, if anything they were higher for some subjects. but everyone who’s graduated from my school has told me their predicted atars were pretty accurate, so not sure what to believe lol

what kind of retard uses year 11 marks to predict atar 💀
Everyone in the ACT gets a predicted ATAR based on year 11 results and they are used as entire basis for ANU entry scaled against school results previous years to provide a predicted ATAR. I think almost half of undergraduate places Are awarded on this basis at ANU based on year 11 results providing predicted ATAR. They’re usually pretty good predictions

do the people there know that the exam marks on school reports are raw? so therefore if you have a 50% in english, they can't just put 50 in the atar calculator, that will underestimate the atar by a lot

edit: oh wait, the shitty act doesn't do the hsc. They do shitty internal assignments and no exams. fuck them

ACT system is different. It’s quite complex how they arrive at the ATAR predictions and it’s not as simple As that. It’s different to HSC

I can't stand retards who choose to do anything other than the hsc. the shitty act doesn't even offer math beyond a standard 2 level, how embarrasing. This is literally more embarrassing than the SAT exams

Haha my year 11 grades were all B’s but my predicted atar was 93, idk if its so accurate. I think the yr12 one given is more accurate to rely on only after trials
