Hi

I am looking at the comparison of the University of Sydney to the University of Western Sydney.

I am particularly interested in a Masters of Teaching – Primary.

Does anyone know anything about these three aspects:
1: Ratio of assignments compared to exams
2: How helpful are the lecturers and tutors?
3: What are the placements like for each course?

My mum actually completed her masters of teaching last year @ Usyd. I can double check with her but she pretty much just had assignments there weren't really exams. She said it varied, like the usefulness of the tutors/lecturers and I'll have to ask about the placements for you.

I wouldn't talk down wsu either. I feel like although they are not seen to be as reputable, in fact when I went to the usyd open day the assoc prof of space engineering actually complained about the poor quality of teaching in those 'regional' universities... Wsu are extremely student-focused and I feel like that suits some people more than others. Mind you the ratios are still really good @ usyd, if I remember right, I think it was 1 to 3 ish for the dissertation.

Price wise there is a big difference. At USYD its 37k p/a but at WSU it's 23k for international and for domestic it's about 6k p/a for both.

If you need more specific info I'm more than happy to ask just give me some q's
