I’ve been toying with this idea for awhile! I have no clue as to what brand or how much money to spend.
I remember my one buddy bought one on his trip to Hawaii. He let me fool around on it, and it sounded like a POS. Probably a typical tourist trap job, and I told him just that.
So, please, school me. I have no idea what my price range is, because I don’t know enough about them, but I have found myself looking at them in recent trips to music stores. Also, would you recommend acoustic or acoustic/electric?

I have this Hricane UKS-3 classical guitar and it is nice.
Highly recommend these for both beginners and experienced players. It’s simply a lovely instrument with high quality alto sound. Good for adult size players. I’d say teenagers and up will find the uke easy to carry.
