You would include that into your resume anyway wouldnt you? in the section where it says 'education'...
it would be illegal to state that you started your degree in 2004-2008 if you actually went to TAFE in 2004-2005 and then transfered to a uni in 2005-2008! :p

No, if you do not want to include something in your resume then you don't have to.

if your Tafe course was completed then you can put it in but if it's not completed then you don't as the employers assumed by you putting it in there they think you completed went you haven't creating confusion.

why wouldnt u want to include it, this shows that you have worked hard to get where u have gotten and shows how much experience u have in tertiary study

Yes you can.

usually you write when you started and finish but thats up to the individual concern.

Or it shows you're a dumbarse who was too lazy to do shitall in their HSC and needed to resort on the absolute most backdoor way into their degree (they couldn't get into uni to even transfer internally!) :p

Or it shows that u did work really hard during the hsc, but that u just weren't smart enough to get into the uni course u wanted, or that u missed out by a couple of points, and decided not to give up, go to tafe, then go to uni and achieve what u wanted.
