I have a number:
13.85640646

How do i convert it to 3 significant figures,
is it 13.9 ?

Also,

0.0018510

Convert to 3 sig figs?

Yep 13.9 is right. With Sig. figs u basically write down the first required figures, round up the last one and drop the rest. e.g :

1.57 to 2 sig figs = 1.6

1326.5 to 3 sig. figs=1330

*If the first figure = 0 move on to the next first number that isnt 0.
i.e, 0.0018510 to 3 sig figs = 0.00185

0.04066 to 2 sig. figs = 0.041

Remember, 1.000 means 4 significant figures because the three 0s weren't included for no reason (while 1 = 1 sig fig)
So yeah, 4.0006 =5 sig figs, not 2, because the middle figs count.
