Hi,
Firstly, whoever is telling you this information is telling you bullshit.
1st. Science is very big at UC, especially health science. It has its own Division; Division of Health, Design and Science. I don't know where your friend is getting this stuff about the education faculty from. Science courses have been around since the uni has been around; You could only do Education/Science (double degree) 2 years ago I think.. So whatever your friend said is the complete opposite. The science division has only had a link with the education division since about 2 years ago !!!!!! Science courses have been around for YEARS!!!!!!
In terms of Science courses there are:
Nursing
Medical Science (The ONLY course in ACT approved by the medical science association)
Pharmacy
Physiotherapy
Psychology (including honours, phd)
Human Biology
Forensic Science
Human Nutrition
Dietician (?? spelling)
Resource and Environmental Science
There are TONNEs more, especially in Post Graduate. Go to the UC homepage to look at them.
Yes, UC has more "practical" courses - aimed at ensuring graudates can get straight out in to the workforce.
The science divison at UC is one of the biggest of the uni; and the fastest growing according to the annual report...
