Hi i just finished watching 'once were warriors' and i was wondering if any1 could tell me how the notion of RFTG applies to it. Im just completely lost and any help would be much appreciated.

What are the values of the global which have been portrayed in the film?

Cultural identity

Its an ongoing problem in maori society, where drug, alcohol, violence have taken over.

Its all about Cultural Identies

You have read Bone Poeple right?

See the connections?

so the global is where people seek instant gratification through drugs, sex, violence, money?

and no i haven't read Bone people, my school is doing SH poems, The shipping news and The castle.

I can see the connection with SH and The shipping news as individuals in all 3 texts retreat to their cultural roots to find stability/reason for their life. Culture and history has provided the individuals the chance to discover themselves and develop.
