there was a good answer in the 2001 standard package, (theres only 1 sample for this q)

to summarise

good:
quickly ended the ww2
allowed for research that led to greater understanding of nuclear physics
led to development of nuclear energy as an alternate form of energy production

bad:
bombs kill ppl and radioactive blah blah blah
cold war - 1st time humanity possess the power 2 utterly desytoy themselves
pollution from nuclear plants (thermal, radioactive waste) and other impacts on emvironment
