could some one plz tell me whats angular momentum and the diffraction thing in simple words, cause the text books are so confusing

diffraction is the change in the directions and intensities of a waves after passing by an obstacle, so for example, a light passes through a mirror, it changes its direction

Can you elaborate on what exactly the thing is? (eg. angular momentum of e- or soemthing else?)
