Do you think it's fair someone can get a 20/100 RAW in math advanced, have his/her scaled mark be bumped up to 60/100
meanwhile If I get a 60/100 RAW in english, my scaled mark becomes a 39/100?

Like genuinely, you've got to be kidding me, you're telling me you sat there for 3 hours and 10 minutes and couldn't get more than 20%?

this also is just not true. you're comparing your school to the whole state, which i can assure you has differing opinions.
i mean, i should be getting around 87 in english advanced, with a raw of 67/70 in extension 1 maths, and 85/100 in extension 2 maths.

none of this would affect you, had you simply done better. there is no need to go on an outrage and complain about everyone else when it was something fully in your control.

there was no need for me to do better.

73 would've been an okay mark for me if it scaled like 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023.

the fact is, these people all failed the 2024 hsc math exam for some reason, and that made me lose 10 scaled points

they're different exams.

if someone who had 20/100 -> 60/100, that means a majority/good amount of the state also performed poorly on that exam.
if you got 60/100 -> 40/100, that means a good amount of the state didn't perform as poorly.

...also your scaled mark contributes differently to your ATAR no?
if you get 89/90 scaled mark on all of your courses, let's say the Asian 5 (im asian calm down), you would end up around a 97/98 ATAR despite having an "average scaled mark" of 89/90

~48/100 for ext 2

I'm on the edge because of chemistry and English where the scaled mark (not HSC or raw mark) for English is confirmed to be 39/100 (even though it should've been 45, just fucktarded people ruined the scaling), and Chemistry where my scaled mark will be around 55/100, so if ext 1 and 2 scale unusually low like how it did in 2024, it could be detrimental. Well at least I get at least 1 point from EAS. I need a scaled mark of atleast 340/500 to get 85 atar

since these people did good in English but horrific in Maths Advanced, UAC automatically assumes you must be retarded if you didn't do good in English, scaling English to unspeakable levels.

My poor mark in extension 2 maths barely negatively affects scaling, as I'm a minority in that I also did bad in English. Just look at https://rawmarks.info/mathematics/mathematics-advanced/

Since I did bad in both Ext 2 maths and Bad in English, I will NOT affect scaling in anyway. The same cannot be said for English, where everyone there can't even get above a 30/100 in fucking two unit maths.

look. i hate to break it but the biggest impact on ur English scaled mark, is your English raw mark. not every other course. your 60/100 will also definitley not scale to a 40/100.

you are heavily exaggerating it. additionally, for UAC they also include everybody who dropped out, which means the average is usually much higher.

also. i really do not see the argument towards constantly worrying and stressing about what is going to happen, because that is fully out of your control. even when you get your ATAR, there's nothing you can change. the only thing you can do is how you react to the situation, and where you choose to go from here. if you constantly complain about everybody else and that is the only thing on your mind, that's all you'll be.

there is no reason to complain about everybody else doing bad, when the only reason you would be affected is if you did just as poorly as everyone else. you would not be as affected if you did much better than everyone else... also if more people did very badly in advanced, then your mark in advanced (assuming its not as bad) will scale much better.

it's fine to be upset, but you do not need to take it out on everybody else. i'm sorry if i've been a bit rough, but its the truth. you need to take some accountability.

UAC unfairly gives them a scaled mark of 50/100 even though they got a fucking 20% on the math exam.

apparently this year was soooo difficult. No the fuck it wasn't. It was legit a surface level paper. Thanks to the

collective English cohort, I lose 10 aggregate points.

Someone can be awful at 2u mathematics, still get a decent atar (cause it scales good or doesn't have to count at all)

Meanwhile

I will get a low atar cause of English (scaled mark of 39/100), even though I band 6 math advanced.

I definitely still have a higher IQ than people getting 20/100 raw in 2u though (they get band 5s in English as well)
