Using snapdragons, homozygous white flowering plants were crossed with homozygous red flowering plants. All F1 plants had pink flowers possible genotypes for the plants (in named order) would be:

(A) WR, RR, RR
(B) WR, WW, WR
(C) WW, RR, RW
(D) WR, RW, WW

I need a guide on how to solve this question, thanks :)

Hi. This is a common example of incomplete dominance whereby the offsprings phenotype is a 'blend' of the parents' phenotype for that particular trait.
-Genotype of homozygous white flowering plant: WW
-Genotype of homozygous red flowering plant: RR
-Genotype of offspring: RW
Therefore, answer must be C as the genotypes are in that particular 'named' order.

Oh my gosh.. i just realised that the q is asking me for the genotypes of the parental generation too lol.. i was wondering how the f1 generation would have a genotype of WW and RR. Thank you, gada1 ^^
