What kind of maths do you do mainly?
I love maths but stuff like compound interest bores me, is it mostly this type of maths?
Currently, in first year (because that's all I can really assert) ...
ACST151: A range of maths ... based around financial payments ... which is conceptually similar to compound interest ... However, the difference is ... there is a wider variety of maths ... and it INTERESTING (well, I'm findin' it interesting)!
STAT171: Probability ... and statistics ...

What kind of salary would an acutary make on average?
(i'm talking very rough figures), i know it's a high paying job, but just how high?
Figures vary ... depending mainly on country! If your in Australia, once you attain full qualifications, you can expect 80K plus ...
If your in the State, alot more ... and less tax for that matter!

What kind of demand is there for actuaries? i.e. how hard is it to find a job upon completion of the course?
Well, if you manage to make it through the course, and you have some social skills ... It would be hard not to be able to chose your own company ... instead of findin' one ...

I hope this helps ... I might type more, if I have more time!

well good luck to all of us
but just remember - if we don't get in, there's plenty of alternatives, so best we can do is study hard now - then RELAX~!

Flyin you should edit the title of this thread, I was all ready to come in and have fun with noobs...

Change it to something mentioning actuaries so more people will know what they're getting and open it.
