OK, some help in understanding exactly what you are doing.

Which dot point does this question address? How much detail do you need to go into? It does say briefly describe but what I mean is, how tiny are we going here: resistors, capacitors, diodes and the components or are we talking about larger components such as speakers, intergrated circuits and so on?

Because if it is just the tinier components we are talking about the you could google "circuit diagram" or "schematic diagram" of the various devices and come up with something.

I am assuming this is for the dot point:
gather and process first-hand and secondary information on the basic pattern of the information transfer process in the following systems:
– land connected telephones
– mobile phones
– television
– radios
– Compact Disc players
to outline features that the systems have in common and use available evidence to discuss the applications of these system

Check out HSC Online: http://hsc.csu.edu.au/senior_science/core/info_systems/9_4_1/941net.html

There are links there to how phones, radios, tv's and CD's work.

TV circuit diagrams: http://cxema.ru/TV SETS.htm
Phone circuit diagrams: http://cxema.ru/PHONE.htm
The VCR link is broken (404)
Audie stuff circuit diagrams: http://cxema.ru/audio.htm

However, most such circuit diagrams are proprietary info and only for sale. Another thing you culd do, and I know it is due tomorrow, but go to a computer/TV repairer etc and ask to see their service manuals.

Many electronic devices used to come with a circuit diagram in the user manual. See if you have one lying around the house.

But you will find that all such electronic devices are going to have, as basic components:
  • resistors
  • capacitors
  • inductors
  • transformers
  • transistors (of various sorts)
  • diodes
  • triodes
All other devices are just made up of combinations of these:
  • integrated circuits
  • modulators
  • discriminators
  • etc

Circuit symbols help: http://www.kpsec.freeuk.com/symbol.htm

Sorry this is probably not that much help, but it is hard to know what you want.
