Random question: Has anyone here looked at / has taken the Graduate Record Examination?
All of the grad schools in my area have it as some sort of requirement. I basically look reasonably screwed for the maths parts, and I wondered if anyone here had any experience either preparing for it or finding out how it would be used in a grad application. Despite my best efforts, I can't find out exactly how it's used - people at the universities I've talked with range from saying 'we just need a score' to 'it's an integral part of the application'.
