I have an in class essay next week, where i have to 'evaluate the effectiveness of NGO's in the enviro law making process' on a global and national scale.
I have found some info, but am struggling a bit on getting 'success stories' of NGO's that are not as big as Greenpeace etc etc...anyone got any relevant info please??
thanks.

well they played a big role in UN enviromental conferences held in 1972, 1992 and 2002

and those environmental conferences played a major role in creating new international laws such as Agenda 21. Also the 1972 enviro conference focused on the "human-side" of the environment but progressed into a more broader perspective, which lead to the idea of sustainable development.

ummm....as you know NGOs use the media quite effectivaley in portraying messages to members of the public about global environment issues. In saying this, their use of media has increased awareness in the international community.
