I am curious in what File Systems are identified in most Operating Systems, like in the Windows series, LINUX/UNIX & DOS.

well the common ones that i know of are FAT16, FAT32 (Windows 9X, Me, XP) NTFS (NT, Win 2000, XP)

There are a number of different file systems for Linux and Unix depending on the OS itself. Redhat is usually ext2 and ext3.

FAT32 is recognised by Windows and Linux. I'm not sure about DOS and UNIX though. If you wanted a widely supported filesystem I'd suggest FAT32, it's what I use as a "share" partition between Linux (Debian) and Windows XP.
