in the hsc exam is there a chance we will get a creative writing task. i have looked at past and people have been asked to write a short crime fiction story with a stimulus of a picture?
is that possible for us?
whats wrong with just a straight essay?

you get an essay and a creative writing peice; generally a story.

you will be provided with a direction, generally a stimulus of a story, a quote about your genre or from a text from your genre.

an essay does not reveal the complete extent of your understanding of a genre. being able to write creatively allows you to utilise and demonstrate conventions and understanding of the genre in a different format from a formal essay.
