Hi, i was wondering if someone could explain to me what the mediums of production are for emma and clueless? I am a little confused whether is is how Emma is a novel and Clueless is a film or the techniques used in novel/film.

thanks in advanced :)

What you said sounds about right, as much as it is stating the obvious. Emma is a novel and Clueless is a film. The two produce very different ways of telling a story and correspond to the contexts they come from. Whilst it would have been impossible for Emma to be a film in the 19th century, Clueless was made through the medium of film for a reason. Consider the colourful pop culture references that are visually represented for example, which links to other ideas about how society has changed in its values etc.
