Eddy currents are produced when a "bulky" conductor (such as a metal sheet) is placed in a changing magnetic field (or the metal sheet is moved throughout a constant magnetic field). These currents are circular and oppose the motion of the conductor or magnetic field, linking to Lenz's Law. For example, if a metal sheet is placed in a changing magnetic field which is into the page, the the eddy currents induced will produce a magentic field that is out of the page to oppose the original magnetic field. By using the right- hand grip rule (where your thumb is placed in the direction of the magnetic field), the direction of the eddy currents can be deduced to be anticlockwise.

I hope that helped. This is just a summary.
