Hey guys!
I'm looking for E1 maths tutoring around the Canterbury-Bankstown area, mainly around Croydon or Burwood
I'm embarrassed to admit this, but i did take the Du entrance exam recently, and was told to find somewhere else as my score was very low.
Are there any non-selective tutoring classes you guys would recommend for this first term? I am thinking of re-taking the Du exam next year after the 6 week break, as i'll be attempting to catch-up to their curriculum during that time.
I was looking at either Matrix or Talent 100, would you guys recommend either of these? Or is there anywhere else i should be looking?
Thanks! :)

why does du reject people for being "too low" shouldn't they be trying to help people :(

I hear matrix is pretty good! idk where NGO is but I've also heard good things about them! I would also recommend seeing if you know anyone who would be willing to privately tutor, depending on what you look for in a tutor - many tutoring centres just go ahead on content and don't actually instill a good understanding, whereas private tutors can work specifically with you through things you might not understand. (I don't do tutoring so I can't speak to any specific one though.) I hope you find somewhere!

Thanks! I have heard a lot of good things from matrix overall, and this has encouraged me to book a trial lesson soon! For me PERSONALLY i do think that the class style environment might work better as personally i never really saw results with private tutoring. I also don't think Du is trying to exclude the low-ranking students, its just their content is very fast paced and ahead of syllabus, if i went to that class, id fall even further behind. Their work is also really designed for the already high ranking students (for reference, the first-placer in my math classes is in the lowest Dr Du ext class). Its kinda the same way the selective schools operate, catering towards the brightest students who need to be academically challenged. Thank you so muchh :)
