I never said Economic neo-liberalism is a dirty word. I am afraid it is you who is economically illiterate after all you only are a high school student. I am a Bachelor of Business student at a top five per cent business school in the world. The point I want to make is that without welfare rights, the disadvantaged people would be smashed to pieces. Australia is a mixed market economy that has a role for government and the free market. You should have died of shame for saying that I am socialist. You are telling untruths. I am an economic conservative. What that means is that I support economic neo liberalism (free market economics). You clearly have no basic conception of economics if you don't understand the fundamental benefits of free trade, or capitalism (oh yes I said that dirty word!). Not to be confused with corporatism where the government gives big business a hand and CHOOSES winners [pretty much the current global economy], capitalism does not hurt the poor - it's quite the contrary my economically illiterate friend!
And I actually do plan on studying law/economics at usyd.
