What is the difference between diving externally or internally using ratios?

internally. you take m:n as postive addition, whilst negative; you takes m:n as negative.

i.e Internally: mx2 + nx1 divided by 2 --> same for y coordinates.
Externally: mx2 - nx1 divided by 2 ---> same for y coordinates.

I'm just repeating but incase it's easier

if it says external just make 'n' negative

so 3:-2 instead of 3:2

It should work fine.

But the actual difference is P won't be between the two points but outside them.

Then there wasn't a ratio's question like usual. Thanks anyway.
