i'm havning trouble with this question i try to differentiate it but i keep on getting wrong answer.

1/2x^3

everytime i differentiate it i get 2/3x^4

1/(2x^3) is the same as 1/2 (x^-3). if you try it that way and do your normal differentiation it becomes (-3 x 1/2 ).(x^-4) which equals -3/(2x^4)

yes the quotient rule would give the same answer!

but since the expression was quite simple and could be arranged that way i thought i'd save some time.
