I've been doing Actuarial but hate it?

I dropped actuarial/economics at MQ for economics at UNSW and never looked back. I don't think UNSW accepts external transfers mid year though (only at the end of the year through UAC). At least that's what I was told by UNSW advisors.

    Credit points from other unis

Yes. Most likely. You can find the form for credit transfer online and then you can mail it to UNSW. Alternatively, go to UNSW Student Central and ask for the form. You'll get an email a week or so later informing you whether your application was successful.

    Getting into Commerce at UNSW!

I'm doing finance at UNSW and recommend it. Definitely pick UNSW over MQ or USyd for finance. But yeah.... try avoid Yip.

    Getting into Commerce at UNSW!

Don't go MQ. If you didn't get 95 ATAR/UAI, you're most likely NOT going to get a D average at MQ.

    log question help please!!!

    Solution: 6logx - 3 = 3logx 6logx - 3logx = 3 3logx = 3 logx = 1 x = 0 The base of the log is irrelevant. Anything to the power of 1 is 0. So logx = 1 => x = 0 ALWAYS.

Actuarial Studies at UNSW and MQ

The whole major vs degree thing is just a marketing ploy by MQ. At the end of either degree you'll be well equipped to enter an actuarial grad position. MQ has a great rep in actuarial studies because it's been doing it for so long. Though UNSW has only been running actuarial studies for a...

Macquarie Uni Bach of Comm (accounting) compared to big 3?

There's no such thing as the big 3 universities. It's the big 4 universities: USyd, UNSW, UTS and MQ. From what I hear MQ's B Comm is better than UTS's B Business, but only marginally. Decent grades, work experience and interesting extra curricular activities will be what the big 4 consulting...

Year 12 Student - Questions Regarding BComm/BEcos with an Accounting Major

I've done commerce at MQ and transferred to UNSW so I know both the courses. Also, I've spoken to a number of graduates and employers at career days and that's what I've been told.

    Macquarie good for commerce?

It's a good degree and employers look at Macq and UNSW degrees equally. However, since Macq is relatively small the degree is extremely inflexible due to many units not be offered in both semesters and very stringent prerequisites. From experience, Macq exams are slightly tougher than UNSW...

Year 12 Student - Questions Regarding BComm/BEcos with an Accounting Major

If you're enrolled in B Econ, you can choose a double major. One major from the economics list and one from the commerce list. So you can still major in accounting but it would have to be paired with an economics major. To transfer from economics to commerce you would have to apply through...

    Credit Transfer for Commerce

Re: Credit Transfer for Commerce, part of Combined Law degree. There's a form on the UNSW website. Just search it. The tricky part, however, is that you have to find all the equivalent UNSW courses for the courses from your previous uni exempted. Also, you'll need your academic transcript...

Is General Maths enough for App. Finance?

For ECON111, it's true there is very little maths in it. But it requires logical thinking which can only be developed by learning a decent level of maths. I wouldn't say HSC General Maths is decent. But I still think a general maths student can pass this unit by putting considerably more time...
