I dropped actuarial/economics at MQ for economics at UNSW and never looked back. I don't think UNSW accepts external transfers mid year though (only at the end of the year through UAC). At least that's what I was told by UNSW advisors.

Yes. Most likely. You can find the form for credit transfer online and then you can mail it to UNSW. Alternatively, go to UNSW Student Central and ask for the form. You'll get an email a week or so later informing you whether your application was successful.

Don't go MQ. If you didn't get 95 ATAR/UAI, you're most likely NOT going to get a D average at MQ.

There's no such thing as the big 3 universities. It's the big 4 universities: USyd, UNSW, UTS and MQ. From what I hear MQ's B Comm is better than UTS's B Business, but only marginally. Decent grades, work experience and interesting extra curricular activities will be what the big 4 consulting...

I've done commerce at MQ and transferred to UNSW so I know both the courses. Also, I've spoken to a number of graduates and employers at career days and that's what I've been told.

It's a good degree and employers look at Macq and UNSW degrees equally. However, since Macq is relatively small the degree is extremely inflexible due to many units not be offered in both semesters and very stringent prerequisites. From experience, Macq exams are slightly tougher than UNSW...

For ECON111, it's true there is very little maths in it. But it requires logical thinking which can only be developed by learning a decent level of maths. I wouldn't say HSC General Maths is decent. But I still think a general maths student can pass this unit by putting considerably more time...
