my alfa (the 164 super) originally had a 2.0 turbo, i think, but the guy who had it before me replaced the engine in 2003 due to some horrible piston damage. the engine in there now is the engine from the alfa 156 GTA (now discontinued) and the 147 GTA. hope that helps, C
