    2005 HSC Answers

Find the cost to host 200 people, which I think was $3100. Find the ticket price to break even at $3100. 3100/200 = $15.5 I think. Find the ticket price to make $1500. 1500/200 = $7.5. Add the two together, $23.

Does this have anything to do with Z-scores??

Basically it works like this. 68% lie within 1 standard deviation. I.e, between - 1 and 1 z-scores. 95% lie with in 2 standard deviations. I.e, between -2 and 2. 99.7% lie within 3 standard deviations. I.e, between -3 and 3. By using simple deduction yo can work it out.

Does this have anything to do with Z-scores??

If 40 is the mean, then 50% lie below 40. 52 is one standard deviation above the mean. 34% of scores lie between 0 and 1. Therefore 50 + 34 = 84% below 52.

    Percentage error anyone??

Ok, let's say I measure something to be 250 mm, to the nearest mm. Therefore the possible error is 0.5 mm. Therefore % error = (0.5/250) x 100 = 0.2% Basically, find the error in terms of measurement (i.e, mm, or m, or whatever) and divide it by the whole measurement, and then...

    Help Please!

    Ok arc length = (theta/360) x 2 x pi x r That is the same as saying: arc length = (theta x 2 x pi r)/360 So you take the 360 to the left: (arc length x 360) = theta x 2 x pi x r Now you want to get rid of 2 x pi x r, so: (arc length x 360) / (2 x pi x r) = theta. I can't...
