    Re: Carrotsticks' Solutions 2015 Extension 2 HSC1 For Question 14 part c ii), I put the same answer in the solution, but didn't put a 4C4 in front of the first term, because it equals 1. Would I lose a mark?

    That's exactly what I did, then used trial and error to try and see if I was right, but then when I subbed n = 1, the product came to -1/2, then tried with n = 2, and the product came to 1/8, then when n = 4, the product was =-1/32 ... so I knew the denominator was increasing by odd powers of 2...

    I think last year's was a bit easier; the question 16 in this year's paper was definitely harder than last year's question 16 with the circle geometry and that inequality.
