Ah right. Then I'm not sure then.

Wouldn't it be x=3 as the question says it is initially at x=3 ?

    Applications of Calculus

Another question. An object is moving along the x-axis. The graph shows the velocity, v ms^-1 of the object as a function of time, t seconds. The coordinates of the points shown on the graph are A (3,27), B (6,36), C (9,0) and D (11,-24). The object is initially at x= 3 and the velocity is...

    Applications of Calculus

A particle is moving along the x-axis. Its displacement x metres from the origin after t seconds, is given by x= e^t - 2e^2t for 0 is less than equal to t or t is less than or equal to 2 (greater than or less than equal to) i) Find the initial velocity of the particle ii) Explain why the...

    Projectile Motion MIF Q25

Only in part a) 30m is required to determine the distance between the two objects. Balls are 19.5+40-30m= 29.5m (soln) If your not completely satisfied, have a crack at it and see if you can reach the same answer X= 11.5, y= 8.2 for B) I'd be interested to see if it does.

    Projectile Motion MIF Q25

    Also didn't require the 30m. Just X=10sqrt 2 and x=7.5t

    Projectile Motion MIF Q25

Thanks for your help, I've figured it out. Poorly worded second part of the question. It had to be turned into cartesian equations ie) Eliminate parameter t in both x(t) equations and substitute into each respective Y equations to solve for X, then sub into y. I guess you could say you were sort...

    Projectile Motion MIF Q25

I would appreciate it if you had an opportunity to solve the problem, as you previously mentioned setting the X(t) equations equal to each other, which I had done before-hand. You disputed this in my previous post with my calculations. Could you extend on your clarifications please? Thanks.

    Projectile Motion MIF Q25

I did try to do this before I placed it on the forum, but you end up with 7.5t-10sqrt2 t= 0 I thought of reusing the 30m and forming the expression: 7.5t=30-10sqrt2 , but I wasn't sure if I am allowed to reuse it?

    Projectile Motion MIF Q25

Having a problem with Q25 part b) I'll provide the whole question below. 'A ball is thrown up with a velocity of 15ms^-1 at an angle of 60 degrees. At the same time, another ball is thrown towards the first one, at an angle of 45 degrees and a velocity of 20ms^-1. The two balls are 30m...

    2015 independent paper physics

There was a multiple choice question on AC, and a 6 marker on Einstein/Planck (Photoelectric Effect). The projectile answer was 5.6ms^-1, angle was 39* and second part was 8.2ms^-1

Can someone explain this to me? Thanks

Yes, I would say this concept refers to an AC Induction Motor. My reasoning for the answer C: As Copper is a non-ferrous material, the changing magnetic field produced by the bar magnet, induces a magnetic field within the copper disc. As a result of our knowledge of Faraday's Law, a current is...

    Integral volume problems

Q9) Well the ellipse has a semi major and semi minor of 3 and 4, upon inspection of the graph from the general ellipse equation x^2/a^2 + y^2/b^2 = 1 But as we want to integrate about the X-axis for part a) the limits will be -4 and 4. V= pi integral of y^2 dx 9x^2 + 16y^2 = 144 16y^2 = 144-9x^2...

Find the area between two curves

Yes, what you should have done: 1) Limits were wrong way round 2) First Integral should have been (2x-x^2) dx between x= 1.5 and x=1 3) That first integral should be deducted from the second integral (x^2/3 - 4/3 x +2) dx between x= 1.5 and x= 1 4) The answer you should get for part 2 is 11/24...

    Business Studies Exam Mark

I received a Band 6, for my exam I did last week, which equated to a 41/45. I received 7/10 for multiple choice and 34/35 for Short answer responses. How can I access more difficult multiple choice to improve on it, to strengthen my band 6? The difference between first (I) and second is 7...

    Question on Operations and Interdependence

Interdependence refers to the mutual dependence that the four key business functions have with respect to each other in this case. Operations is interdependent with the other key business functions as the amount of outputs produced is dependant on the amount of human resources of the business...

Re: HSC 2015 2U Marathon Yeah, I did, I just used the minus, and multiplied by the area by 2 for it being symmetrical, and got 8pi/21. Thanks.
