I went to BESS today and apparently you can transfer regardless of when you commenced uni, so what i quoted seems to be irrelevant. He also said that you need to apply for transfer in the 2-3 days after exam results are released.

It depends on whether you are a new commencing student or not. (I'm not sure if that refers to new at UMQ or new to university)

NOTE: New commencing students wishing to transfer to another course after their first session of enrolment may do so ‐ provided they would have been accepted into the other course in the session of admission.

I guess i was lucky. I didn't get any student groups harassing me or religious people trying to convert me despite what I'd been told about O-Week from friends haha. The guy contact juggling was pretty awesome as well.

How did everyone find O-Week? Highlight for me was the free ice creams :)

I got so lucky today. I was looking at the fliers for 2nd hand books and saw a girl putting up a list of hers for sale. She had the 3 books i needed in perfect condition (one book has a little bit of highlighting in it) for $20-30 less than co op prices. Now i have my books for the semester :)

I went home. I was planning to stay but after the library tour and student faculty talk i didn't want to risk sitting through a few more hours of something similar in quality. Were the afternoon seminars run by the students?

For the library tour, just have our original mentors take us around and show us the important stuff (photocopiers, study area, toilets etc.) instead of getting a new guide that goes over pointless shit. I'd rather the talk given by the blue shirt people in the lotus theatre was about our...

I used to study at the old library a few years ago so i know what i'm missing out on :( old library = practical new library = fancy bling for open week

heh i got a really good group + mentor :P only thing i got out of the library tour is that its worse than the old library, there are no quiet places to study it seems

Yellow shirt mentor tour was good, library tour was a waste of time, the lotus theatre (?) talk run by the blue shirt mentors was lame and not needed, the free food after was bad because we were only allowed 1 piece of bread. It was good to meet some people in my course.

I don't know why you have left gaps between your classes. Do you think you can utilize all of those breaks effectively? (gym, study etc.)

I think you're underestimating travel time. An extra 50 minutes is 1hr 40 mins a day (there and back), several hours a week... Time you could spend sleeping in or studying :)

Weird was the wrong choice of word haha. It will be 'refreshing' to study alongside younger people i guess :)

I'm 20, it will be weird sitting in classes with 17/18 year olds :S
