Is anyone doing, or has done, the Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri? If so what are you using as a related text?

Does the new syllabus that comes in next year affect those who do their HSC in 2010? My teachers have told me that we do the old syllabus for preliminary and next year for the HSC but the way the Board of Studies website is set up it would seem we change to the new syllabus next year.
