    job with no payslips?

You most certainly do need payslips, it is illegal under the Workplace Relations Act not to have them (unless of course, you're working as a cash in hand, fly by night employee, but that's illegal anyway). Also tax is taken out as PAYG on a weekly basis, if you earn under the tax free threshold...

    Casual Employment

Trust me, there is no lower weekly limit for employment to still be considered 'on the books,' however they can 'write you off' them after a certain number of months. To have a lower weekly limit would be impractical and completely negate the whole point of having casuals. I don't have this on...

    Casual Employment

They most certainly can, the whole entire point of casual employment is that it is 'casual' there is the potential for a 38 hour week one week and a 4 hour week the next. Also, management doesn't have to give reasons why your shifts are getting cut back, so if they don't like you or you're crap...

    First year Law group allocations

Go to the faculty office and ask for one, have a good excuse why you weren't at orientation, the office ladies will most certainly judge you, but probably won't embarrass you too much if you make up some lame excuse as to why you didn't attend.

    Cross-Institutional-Study : Insolvency Law

Considering doing it myself for both space law and OH&S law, from all reports, jumping through the administrative hoops is the biggest of your worries, once as that is done you're fine, so I would highly recomend it. As to insolvency law, as my boss said to me the other day, 'mate, do whatever...

    Law?????

Ok, to cut through most of the pointless banter contained in this thread, this is how Law schools work in NSW. And before anyone starts on whether I am qualified to answer this question, yes I am, I'm in my second year of Law @ UOW and work in lobbying law schools, the legal profession, firms...

    The Woolworths Thread

Give it to your store manager I recently quit after 4 months or so of telling them I was to return casual (just wanted that 5% off for a couple more months), :P get it over and done with quickly or you will get some narky HR bitch ring you up and threaten to terminate your employment under...

    Anu/uow/uws

You seem to be in the same position I was in two years ago (except I was considering just UOW and ANU, not so much UWS). Having the advantage of being heavily involved in law student politics locally at UOW and nationally at the Australian Law Students' Association, I can safely say that UOW...
