    Bachelor of Environments?

I'm interested in doing architecture somewhere but also like the idea of having other options for a major. I live in wollongong but was going to consider Melbourne uni anyway because of its good reputation. This course sounds pretty cool and possibly exactly what I'm looking for, but I've...

    Relaxation music?

listen to barling, he knows what hes talking about. also: Starsailor - love is here (the whole album is great but if you want songs try poor misguided fool, alcoholic or fever) Doves - lost souls (again i would highly recommend the whole album but some songs are: the cedar room, the man who...

    Distinction Course Discussion

No, not yet. I'm leaving for a few days very soon so i have no time to look through it at all. But i did check the readings for the first 2 modules and they haven't changed in the last 3 years which means I can use my brothers printed versions :)

mine just arrived, and I live in wollongong so i'm sort of assuming most people have theirs by now. It's a LOT smaller than i expected.

Congrats everyone! I managed to scrape in to cosmo (Yay!). I was really surprised after I got my disappointing results (84 & 89), i guess the cut off point was a bit lower this year... btw, I know of 2 more who got in to cosmo and 1 for philosophy from my school

haha, no problem it was nice to meet you. :) lol we're not brothers, i just got a lift with sam and his parents. I'm luke, with the brown hair if that helps. oh, and i applied for cosmo. Like i probably told you; I don't think i could put together a very good philosophical arguement. That would...

    Dilema with Schooling

Based only on people who came to my selective school this year i would recommend you go there. It's true that if your motivated you'll do fine anyway but a selective school is sure to help. It will be much more competitive which should motivate you more but some people just prefer to be top of...

Hi guys, i just found this thread, I probably should looked for it a bit earlier but oh well. I'll just add that none of us Smith's Hillians have gotten the call yet. Which forms? I remember reading that somewhere but now I can't find it... Also, Elisa.the.Sweda? Are you the Jessica that we...

Negative effects of a Depeciation question

ok thanks, that helped. So we are just meant to accept that export income will decrease (short run) due to other factors, such as the ones mentioned so far, not really explained in the book.? stupid tim riley. thanks guys

Negative effects of a Depeciation question

I considered this. It would solve the problem but wouldn't apply to all exportors so i can't see why he would include it in the book if this is the only reason, especially considering it's the first point. Thanks for the help guys but i still think it's a bit iffy

Negative effects of a Depeciation question

In terms of foreign currency: yes In terms of AUD: I don't see why export income changes at all And we're referring to it in terms of AUD because we're talking about negative impacts within Australia.

Negative effects of a Depeciation question

I dont understand why, in the short run, the price of exports fall when the dollar depreciates. It makes sense for it to fall from the perspective of overseas importers, but shouldn't Australian exporters still get the same amount of money as they did before. It's the first dot point on page...

    Best Economics Textbook

We're just using Riley's textbook at the moment, is that bad? Also, does anyone know if there will be Dot Point books for economics this year? I would like that.

Rudd's Education Reform: Laptops to 9-12 Seconday Students

http://www.smh.com.au/news/national/nsw-students-to-get-promised-laptops/2008/11/29/1227491892398.html I'm still not convinced. your first 2 quotes don't set a date and your third pretty much says the same as the one i gave. I don't know why we are arguing though. Neither of us seem to know too...

Rudd's Education Reform: Laptops to 9-12 Seconday Students

Firstly, your sig makes me lol Secondly, to me that suggests giving them out to a small amount of schools and fixing any problems they might have, then giving them out to everyone else later next year. By that time it would be pointless to give them to us in yr12. but i guess they still might...

Rudd's Education Reform: Laptops to 9-12 Seconday Students

This I don't understand. what makes you think a deficit is bad? It's just a stance of fiscal policy that stimulates the economy. which is what we want right now. I don't see why the financial crisis would affect it. But maybe... can anyone give reasons why? I hope they do this laptop thing...
