    Biochemistry??

Is there anyone else out there doing the Biochemistry elective??? If so, what do you make of it???? It's seems such a big elective!! They can only ask 25 marks worth of questions, so hopefully they'll ask the stuff I DO know, and not what I DON'T!!!

    Good on you BOS

The exams are written really early!! How else could they have them checked, double checked, and rechecked, and have all the marking guidelines worked out etc etc??!! The syllabus overall is changing because there was just too much in it, and it was too complex. This may turn out to be an...

Why do Girls like Chem ?

There's about 6 in the physics class at school (only one girl) and 7 in chemistry (2 girls - I'm the extra) The other girl and I do chemistry because it's a challenging subject so we don't get TOO bored, we can actually DO it, it's "prestigious", it's scaled up (or at least, not down), and...

    EXAM, stuffed or not

Teacher's are only pedantic about the wording of answers, because that's exactly how it is in the hsc exam!!! In our trial, I knew about 95% of the material, and I knew exactly what I was talking about in my answers, but because I didn't use the words required in the marking...

    retreat from the global

RETREAT FROM THE GLOBAL The creative was good, but the critiquing was such a big question!! I decided that cuz we only had about an hour, that I needed to focus on something less and go into LOTS of detail. I discussed issues raised in teh question, but used terminology from the quote, ie...

How much easier is 3unit than 2!

In answer to a question: ANY 2 units of english count, so that can be your 3rd and 4th unit, or you 4th and one of the 1st two, or any combination.

    How to study properly?

    English Ext1 Exam

We're doing Retreat From The Global and I love it!! Our texts are The Bone People Heaney's poems The Lost Salt Gift of Blood We have an Eng Ext 1 class of 5 (amazing, considering there are only 40-45 in the grade!!!). The students are great - we ALL bounce ideas off one another - but our...

    Uws

I was planning all along to put down UWS as my first preference. I really really really REALLY wanted to do Criminology/Psychology double major in the SocSci degree. I went to the open day (hawkesbury campus) and it looked GREAT! The ONLY reason why I haven't put it down as a first...

    Argh! Yay! It's OVERRRR!

That was SUCH an easy exam!! I was worried because I was SURE there was going to be some obscure question about something I'd just skipped over a bit. Hatshepsut part (c) was almost the same as in my trial (it just had an "or" instead of "and". Middle Kingdom society was easy, except part...

    WhoA!

Question 7b was simply a binomial DIFFERENTIATION and INTEGRATION question. Don't ask me how to do it, because I couldn't do it. I just knew it was diff. and int., so I wrote "differentiate both sides" then had a go at it. For (ii) all I wrote was "by integration," I'm hoping for a...

Ext math bad judge of ability

The memory is in having to remember what to do in certain situations, but 3u and 4u are different to 2u IN THAT they are extensions of the SAME concepts. 2 UNIT is memory, but 3 UNIT and 4 UNIT are testing to see how much you know it by testing you ability to APPLY this knowledge. It is NOT...

    Fuck

I thought that that was the easiest Maths exam I have sat for the HSC or Prelim syllabus!! I could even do all of question 10!! There was only 1 mark that I didn't attempt - that silly focus of the parabola one!!! I couldn't get the y-value, but, OF COURSE, now that it's too late, I know...

    Eep! Ur Opinion Needed!

I really don't see a problem with using Brave New World for Powerplay. My class studied BNW in Year 10 (so why is it on the Advanced English Prescribed Text List?!!!!) and so one girl in my class (there's 9 people at my school who did Advanced English, so we all had different TOCs) studied...

    The paper was a joke.

I saw the extra text as an advantage - same total amount of marks allocated to the section, but more questions to answer, means that there's no one question with a lot of marks attached to it!! Excellent!! Less chance of totally stuffing up!!

    Q2 - who didn't relate to Q1?

The question did NOT say "refer briefly to the text". It said "compose a letter to" the composer of one. What it DID say was "respond BREIFLY to SOME aspect of the text". Hence, if the text was NOT referred to, The question was not answered. If is impossible to have answered Question 2...

    Who gives a shit?

I wrote to the cidada lady!! I found that that was the easiest thing for me to do. I don't know of anyone else who did, but I'm one of them!!
