    ENGL1025- what the?

perfectly put. especially as it looked so cool when i was picking subjects... i really liked the big sleep and ripley yet the subject is taking the fun out of them, unlike hsc english did with blade runner, frontline etc.

    Congratulations for achieving average marks

THAT'S THE FUCKING POINT. "isn't that what we all did?" - that is what he is pointing out, that he studied the same as everyone else rather than being "handed his uai on a silver platter". "most people go to schools where their school teachers dont give a shit, you expect us to do better than...

95.65! way more than expected :D... even after i got my marks i still thought maybe 94.5 if i was lucky. anyway SAM predicted 94.25 and thats a bit out of touch with others (since SAM seems to have one an awesomely accurate job overall) but i already made a thread bout that so yeah...happy! :)

just a note re modifying SAM

No doubt the guys who modify/maintain SAM have got lots of notes about its predictions this year, what with some subjects scaling way differently and english being harder in general, but I thought I would just inform them that though it is said to be accurate within 0.2-0.5 with UAIs over 90, it...

    Jap Extension

not exclusively - it said to discuss if "modern lifestyles" are having a negative impact on individual relationships. technology is only one aspect of modern lifestyles - it was the longest of my three points, but i also talked about divorce (as well as more women in the workforce) and decreased...

    Jap Extension

hey people - i don't know if anyone will reply or if anyone cares, since it's 4 days after the exam and still no proper jap ext thread, but i might as well ask how y'all found it. personally some of the questions were rather unexpected; the fushigi na kikai 5-marker really had no relevance to...

    2006 HSC Mathematics Solutions

dude just pointing out your solution to 7b iii) is wrong. in the first set of brackets in the third line, you had sin(2pi/3) as (2pi - root3)/2, whereas it should only be (root3)/2 so the answer comes out being 7.4 or so i think. also, an answer for 6a iii), the prove it's a rhombus one, would...

    Japanese Continuers

Re: Japanese Continuers ... ridiculous.. does anyone know anything about jap's aligning? cos i have no idea whatsoever... like wtf would a raw mark of like 82 in total align to. i heard jap hardly aligns but hopefully thats 90 at least...

Module B: Critical Study of Texts

i didn't read the end of the question! so i didnt see the part about the 2 extracts... i did an analysis of the play as a whole but pretty much all of it was taken from act 1 scene 1 and act 3. hopefully they see that as me analysing two scenes. also, i prepared a marxist reading but then the...

Module A: Comparative Study of Texts and Context

i agree it was easy and straight forward but it was pretty unexpected (not generic to the module as a whole). but i managed to write out my prepared essay with moderations of intro conclusion topic sentences etc. i thought i had written about a balance between the wild and 'progress'... turns...

    Module C: Representation and Text

yeah i pretty much agree. i had to lengthen my essay by probably another third, meaning i didnt have enough time for lear, in order to directly answer the question (basically i just said "and this convinced me of sitch et al's perspective that ..." in each sentence)

    strange...

you have a point, but then again their simplicity makes them the hardest to write complex analysis about... anyway i'm over whining. on to modules

How much u wrote and wat mark u expect ?

Uni, you're definitely in band 6 territory if you can keep it up for modules - i think the cutoff might be somewhere around 83 but i'm going for 85 just to make sure. also my theory is that amythegod is an alternate profile created by BrianTheGod so he can back himself up in arguments, and boost...

    strange...

ok so i do advanced and the bottom 3 classes out of 7 in my school (ranked 27 or so) study physical journeys. im in english 6 but still reasonable (rank 30/145) but ive noticed that the board of studies has been a right bastard against physical lately. like, in the past 2 yrs we have had a shit...

    Creative Writing

i wrote about how the grandfather tells of how, when he was a young man, he participated in a marathon (discovering "his place" - cliche and a half!). i started this part by saying how the sunlight rains down on a sign or some shit, leaving it gleaming with opportunities for everyone beholding...

    Order of Sections

i still read through the texts, but because my essay is generally prepared and memorised sentence-for-sentence (if not word-for-word like today, luckily it fitted), i find that actually writing out section 1 pushes essay info out of my brain. i concur about the time management though, well done...
