Most years, there are over 500000 individual exam papers to be marked. It would be crazy hard for all papers to be marking within the same physical venue. Additionally, to allow for HSC exams to be marked within a short period of time, NESA needs A LOT of markers, all around NSW, not just Sydney, which is why online marking is better.
