Hello, I want to do flexible first year engineering in UNSW but I haven't really done anything that I think I can show off. Does anyone have any suggestions I can do?

Implement some algorithm in Python (e.g. RSA encryption algorithm)
Create an expository paper on some topic of interest

yup, but try to talk about your skills and the reasons you'll make a good fit asw. dont just say "i like engineering so i want a conditional offer".
